Shortly before Jesus was taken from His friends, He told them that He had to go someplace where they could not follow Him to.
His friends were so upset because they loved Him so much and Jesus didn’t want them to fret.
So He told them that although HE had to go on the next part of HIS journey alone, He was not gonna let them down. Nope! Jesus LOVED His friends and He was never gonna abandon em!
So He tells them that while He Himself was leaving for a bit, He was sending help.
Jesus said He was sending
THE ADVOCATE
which is what we call The Holy Spirit in my faith but I think of it as THE force of GOODNESS in this world.
The last thing He told his friends before they took him away was the
NEW COMMANDMENT
which is to
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
the way He loved His friends.
Then He was killed and HE CAME BACK!
When His friends asked Him what they should do next He said
FOLLOW ME
